Enjoyed two visits to Aberdeen Art Gallery this week and I am definitely inspired to visit more regularly! The sketches by Leonardo were wonderful, particulary the detailed sketch of hands which Ellie and I both agreed was the best. During my first visit Dad and I tried to do some mirror writing without much success! The gallery had provided little mirrors, paper and pencils and were also encouraging people to draw and exhibit their own work. There was quite a selection of drawings, mostly by children and it's great to see so much budding talent. Appreciation and thanks has to go to the 'artist' who did the little drawings of "sheepie" and "disco sheep" (sadly I can't remember their name) for making us laugh so much. I'm sure that was their intention! We were certainly not offended by the sheep references but then we aren't Aberdonians!

My second visit saw me returning to the gallery shop to look at the beautiful journals. I couldn't resist and bought a small garden journal for jotting down ideas on the sort of plants and flowers I need to buy.
